About Mrs. Z (that’s me!)

Hi, I’m Rachel Z. I have been an educator since 2014 both in the classroom and virtual learning space. I strive to make every tutoring session not only educational, but expansive into who your student is and what they’re passionate about.

In our sessions, we strengthen foundational skills in reading, writing, and math and work together to help your child harness their own energy, encouraging them to take ownership in their individual learning journey.

I have a Masters in Special Education and have worked with children of all ability levels grades K-10. My focus since I began teaching was supporting students on the Autism Spectrum, ADHD, dyslexia, and specific learning disabilities. I have 10 years of experience creating customized curriculums and challenging assessments, and bring a passion for inspiring others to love learning.

1:1 Private Tutoring

Our sessions are made just for your child! I host virtual sessions on Google Meet and in person sessions across the Phoenix valley. I am also an ESA vendor on ClassWallet and able to receive payments through ESA funding.

What I Provide:

IEP Goal Work

Does your student have an IEP? Awesome! From working as a 1:1 paraprofessional to a Special Education Coordinator for an elementary school, I love working with learners of all levels. I have extensive background helping kids on the Autism Spectrum, ADHD, Dyslexia, and more. One of my favorite elements of our sessions is creating IEP goal work as supplemental support to your student through the school year.

Customized Instruction

Sessions are built for your student’s specific needs, learning objectives, and individual goals. I love to create materials based off of your student’s passions, hobbies, and personal interests.

Homework Help

From essays to long division worksheets. Just send me a snapshot of your student’s homework and I can walk them through step by step.

Homeschool Support

If you are homeschooling your own child and want consultation support on building a curriculum or creating your own educational materials I have a ton of knowledge and resources for your at home learner!

Study Skills

Teaching your child how to study efficiently and effectively is a life skill that will help them all the way through college. Whether it’s a math test next week or State Testing in the spring, let me show the best ways to prepare for those upcoming exams.

Parent Testimonials

“Rachel has been a godsend for our son Jayden. He is always looking forward to their sessions together and genuinely enjoys working with her. In Jayden’s own words, Rachel is “nice, funny and caring.”  Thanks to her dedication and competence in teaching, he is steadily improving in reading comprehension, writing, and grammar. We are very grateful for her!”- Yvette, Phoenix Arizona

Rachel has been working with our sons for the past 4 years, starting as my oldest son's aid in school. During that time I could see how much she cared for my son and his progress. During the school year she assists them with their homework, and she comes up with her own lesson plans during the summer to keep them from falling back. Rachel has a great rapport with my children. They really enjoy their lessons each week, and I can truly see the progress she has helped them achieve.”-  Jessica, Clearwater Florida

“Absolutely, we would not have been able to get by this year without Mrs. Z!!- Denise, Phoenix Arizona

“Mrs. Ziman has been my son’s teacher for the last three years, she has been helping my son a lot. He is getting better in Math, reading, science and all his homework, he always wants Mrs. Ziman to check his work and do everything with her. We are very grateful to have her in our life. She is an amazing teacher. We love the way she is with him, she always explains everything to him in a very nice way. He loves her and always gets excited when is time to take the class with her.” - Judith, Austin Texas
